Today, on December 18, 2024, Tywain Demetrius Robinson (26, of Fresno) was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison for the murder of Isaac Jackson (24, of Fresno) and the attempted murder of Terrell Williams (30, of Fresno). Robinson’s sentence was handed down by the Honorable Gary Orozco of the Fresno County Superior Court after a Fresno County jury found Robinson guilty following a weeks-long trial that concluded on October 11, 2024.

On May 7, 2021, Isaac Jackson and Terrell Williams drove to Tywain Robinson’s apartment to check on a family member. When they arrived, Robinson fired his gun from inside the apartment and through the closed front door at Mr. Jackson and Mr. Williams. As both victims fled to their vehicle, Mr. Robinson followed and continued to fire multiple times. Mr. Jackson was shot and killed while he sat in the front passenger’s seat. Mr. Williams was not hit but drove away and flagged down a Fresno PD officer near Community Regional Medical Center. Immediately following the shooting, Mr. Robinson fled the area and was later apprehended out of state over a year later, and then extradited back to Fresno. During the trial, Mr. Robinson testified in his own defense and claimed his actions were in justified.
