Murder Charges Filed Against Alleged Drug Dealer

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Antwane Dupree Lee (25, of Fresno) for his alleged involvement in the fentanyl poisoning death of 34-year-old Vernisha Latriece Green of Fresno. It is alleged that on April 16, 2023, Lee sold the pills containing fentanyl that killed Vernisha Green. Green was found deceased on April 17, 2023. The Felony Complaint filed in the Superior Court alleges that Antwane Lee committed:

  • One (1) Count of MURDER [Penal Code § 187];
  • Two (2) Counts of POSSESSION FOR SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE [Health & Safety Code §11351];
  • One (1) Count of SALE OR OFFER TO SELL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE [Health & Safety Code §11352(a)];
  • One (1) Count of TRANSPORT FOR SALE OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE [Health & Safety Code §11352(a)]

Lee is already in custody at the Fresno County Jail for a violation of probation. If convicted of the 2nd Degree Murder charge, Mr. Lee faces 15 years to-life in state prison. Lee is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, May 8th at 8:30 am in Department 31 of the Fresno Superior Court.
