Darshan Dhanjan Sentenced for Murdering His Son's In Laws

Today, on August 15, 2024, Darshan Dhanjan (71, of Fresno) was sentenced to 77 years to life in state prison for the murder of Rajbir Kaur (62, of Fresno) and Ravinder Singh (59, of Fresno), as well as making criminal threats against a third victim. Dhanjan’s sentence was handed down by the Honorable Jane Cardoza of the Fresno County Superior Court after Dhanjan pleaded guilty to all counts and aggravating factors on July 18, 2024.

On September 9, 2018, around 11:23 am, officers with the Fresno Police Department were dispatched to a residence regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers learned that Dhanjan shot and killed two members of his extended family as they sat watching television in their shared home. Afterwards, Dhanjan threatened to kill their daughter when she discovered their bodies before leaving the residence. Officers located Dhanjan later that day and he was taken into custody and booked into Fresno County Jail.
