New Tool Empowers Victims and Witnesses with Real-Time Updates, Enhances Communication

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office is proud to announce the official launch of its new Digital Victim-Witness Notification System, a cutting-edge platform designed to provide real-time updates and information to victims and witnesses involved in criminal cases. This groundbreaking tool will improve communication between our office and those impacted by crime, ensuring that victims and witnesses receive critical updates about case status, hearings, and other important developments.

In an era where instant access to information is essential, this system marks a significant step forward in ensuring victims and witnesses remain informed and supported throughout the justice process. The system offers convenient notifications via text or email, in addition to translation capabilities to Spanish and Hmong.

"We are excited to introduce this innovative tool that not only supports victims and witnesses but also strengthens the transparency and accessibility of the criminal justice process," said District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp, “By leveraging the power of technology, we can provide a more efficient, user-friendly way for individuals to stay informed and engaged in the process, helping them feel more secure and confident as their cases progress."

To highlight the features and benefits of the new system, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has released an informative video that provides a detailed overview of how the platform works and what to do should they receive a notification.
