Charges Filed for the Murder of Angel Zungia

The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Joshua Daniel Garcia (20, of Fresno) for the murder of Angel Zuniga and the attempted murder of Keytline Magana, as well as charges against Jace Ramirez (20, of Fresno), for being an accessory after the fact. It is alleged that on October 29, 2022, Angel Zuniga was shot and killed while attending a large Halloween party. The Felony Complaint filed in the Superior Court alleges that Joshua Garcia committed:
- One (1) Count of MURDER [Penal Code §187(a);
- One (1) Enhancement of PERSONAL AND INTENTIONAL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY OR DEATH [Penal Code §12022.53(d);
- One (1) Count of ATTEMPTED MURDER [Penal Code Section 664/187(a)];
- One (1) Enhancement – PERSONAL AND INTENTIONAL DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM CAUSING GREAT BODILY INJURY [Penal Code §12022.53(d)
In addition to the charges against Garcia, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Jace Ramirez for:
- One (1) Count of ACCESSORY AFTER THE FACT [Penal Code §32]
Mr. Garcia is facing 75 years to life in state prison if convicted of all charges and allegations, and Mr. Ramirez is facing 3 years in prison if convicted of the above charge.
Garcia was arrested on July 1, 2024, in Fresno, California and thereafter booked into the Fresno County Jail. The arraignment for Garcia is scheduled for July 3, 2024, at 8:30 am in Department 31 of the Fresno County Superior Court.
Ramirez was arrested on June 28, 2024, in Fresno, California and thereafter booked into the Fresno County Jail. Ramirez has since bonded out of custody and is scheduled for arraignment on July 16, 2024, at 8:30 am in Department 31 of the Fresno County Superior Court.
